Product Description
This Provita Prolyte Extra comes in a 3kg container and is a combination of electrolytes with vitamins B and C, plus beneficial lactic acid.
Uses:
To aid the rehydration of animals. May be used on its own or in conjunction with antibiotics.
Instructions for use:
Empty the contents of one sachet (76 g) into 2 litres (3.5 pints) of clean lukewarm water and feed orally. Solution should be fed fresh (within 6 hours of mixing). Prolyte Extra is suitable for use with a feeder bag for all animals. Animals should always have access to fresh clean water.
Calves:
- Day 1: 2 litres of solution morning/midday and evening.
- Day 2: 2 litres of solution morning/midday, milk/milk substitute in evening.
- Day 3: 2 litres of solution morning/midday, milk/milk substitute in evening.
- Day 4: Return to normal feeding of milk/milk substitute.
Bought-in calves:
- Day 1: 2 litres of solution morning/midday and evening.
- Day 2: 2 litres of solution morning/midday, milk/milk substitute in evening.
- Day 3: 2 litres of solution morning/midday, milk/milk substitute in evening.
Lambs:
- Feed fresh solution ad lib allowing 0.5 to 1 litre/lamb/day.
Suckling Pigs:
- Offer solution ad lib allowing 200 to 300ml/piglet/day for as long as necessary.
Weaned pigs:
- Offer fresh solution allowing 1 to 2 litres/pig/day.
Foals:
- Feed 20 to 30 ml per kg bodyweight followed by ordinary drinking water.
Horses:
- To replace electrolytes lost by exercise, offer 1 to 2 sachets made up in solution and added to drinking water.
In no case should Prolyte Extra be used for more than 3 days as a sole replacment for milk or milk substitute.
