Product Description
The Vink Calving Aid has a very functional design, it is constructed completely in stainless steel and is a single-handed calving aid that cannot slip and delivers calves safely without injury to either the cow or to her owner’s back. It is very robust and practically indestructible which ensures long and trouble-free service. The pivoting fork design with side holding bars over the cow’s rump ensures the Vink Calving Aid cannot slip off when pulling commences.
The Vink Calfpuller permits pulling tension straight, upwards for posterior presentation and also downwards in the direction of the udder for normal birth. The puller comes in two sizes, for dairy or beef cattle and with alternative traction available.
Does not slip away from the cow
The only single-handed calving aid available
Stainless Steel design and construction
It permits pulling tension straight, upwards and in the direction of the udder
The lever mechanism of the Vink Calving Aid with alternate traction is equipped with 2 hooks which will be drawn backwards one by one when pulling the handle backwards. The pole can be moved sideways maximum 30 degrees, a move sideways of more than 30 degrees can damage the apparatus.
In a normal presentation with the calf coming front feet first, the Vink Calving Aid can apply a 150kg to 250kg maximum pull downwards. If the calf comes backwards the draw should be upwards and then in the direction of the udder. A 10cm free-stroke feature means pulls and rests can be synchronised with the cow’s natural contractions so blood flow to the calf is not restricted. Equally important, tension can be instantly released with a single push of the lever.
